The Illustrator

Jessica Accardo was born in Abilene, Texas and grew up in southeast Michigan. She earned a degree in art and design with an emphasis in illustration from Grand Valley State University.

Under the direction of her mother, Jessica began her journey with illustration at the young age of eighteen months. Her work has come a considerable way from coloring little yellow ducks. Through her work with many different mediums including oil paints, watercolor, and pen and ink, Jessica continues to develop new styles that will build her career in illustration.

Benson’s Adventures in Michigan is her debut as an illustrator of children’s books.
