About the Authors
TRACY FOSTER, Corunna Public Schools’ 2015–2016 Teacher of the Year, has over 20 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school children. She holds multiple degrees in education from Western Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University. Tracy’s passion is instilling confidence in her students to be the best they can be and to present constant learning opportunities for them to DREAM BIG. One of her goals is to provide memories and experiences that will allow her to be “the teacher her students and families always remember.” Tracy and her husband, Dan, are native Michiganders. They have a son, Nathan, and two daughters, Felicia and Mya. The Fosters live in Durand, Michigan, and enjoy traveling around their home state with family. SHANNON COOPER-TOMA has served over 20 years in public education. She holds multiple education degrees from Michigan State University and Saginaw Valley State University. Throughout her career, Shannon has served on numerous educational committees and has presented for many organizations, including the Bureau of Education and Research (BER), Michigan Reading Association (MRA), and Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMPSPA).
